Teacher Appreciation in Tucson - Freebies, Discounts, & Deals
If you’re looking for teacher appreciation freebies, specials, discounts, or deals in Tucson, this is the page for you.
In the United States, Teacher Appreciation Week falls in May of each year. The holiday began in 1953 when Eleanor Roosevelt convinced members of Congress to set aside an official date to honor and recognize educators.
In 1984, the National Parent Teacher Association designated the entire first week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week. National Teacher Day is part of Teacher Appreciation Week.
The celebration, which is supported by the National Education Association, has two main goals:
Thank America’s teachers for their commitment to students and for their work to create great public schools for every student.
Encourage talented and committed individuals to consider the rewarding and intellectually demanding profession of teaching.
In 2025, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9 and National Teacher Day is Tuesday, May 6.
