Shopping has definitely improved in Tucson over the past decade. What a thrill it is to see stores like H&M, Nordstrom Rack, Anthropologie, Apple, and Whole Foods Market in our town of a million+. Finally.
Still, there are a few stores missing out here in the Sonoran desert.
Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market - Speckled all over the Phoenix Valley, these small-scale grocery stores have yet to find their way to Tucson. The European-inspired stores offer their own unique brand that promises no artificial flavors, colors, high-fructose corn syrup, or added trans-fat. Just perfect for the healthy Tucsonans that we are!
The Container Store - Maybe we ought to "get organized" (pun intended) and send mass correspondence to The Container Store, encouraging them to build right here in the southwest.
IKEA - What massive home and furniture store has great prices, floors so big you could get lost in them, high-quality merchandise, AND swedish meatballs? Let's all say it at once: I-K-E-A. (Please come to Tucson).
A Children's Bookstore - Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet? We'd love to see an imaginative bookshop just for kids. With storyhours, classes, books galore, even a little cafe.
What stores would you like to see in Tucson in 2012?
