Rocks & Ropes is a 14,000+ square foot facility in downtown Tucson that offers indoor rock climbing for inexperienced to skilled climbers.
If you are a beginner, Rocks and Ropes offers hands-on instruction. You'll complete a facility safety orientation, which includes learning how to fasten a harness, how to tie a figure-8 knot, how to belay, as well as how to correctly access the autobelay systems and the bouldering area. Each climb has a difficulty rating so you can start easy and and find challenges after you're comfortable. A partner is not needed if a climber decides to use the bouldering area or autobelays.
All equipment is provided at the gym, including the climbing harness and rock shoes. Climbers are able to challenge themselves in balance, flexibility, and strength.
Rocks and Ropes is located at 330 S Toole Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701 – directly adjacent to Get Air.
First-time users of the Gym should schedule a day pass. Walk-ins are sometimes accepted, but reservations receive priority.
The first visit is $30, which includes an all-day admission, gear rental, and the mandatory safety orientation. Again, Day Pass appointments are highly recommended and can be made through the website. More frequent visitors can purchase a membership or a punchcard.
Free parking is available at Rocks and Ropes.
