This talk will introduce the world of the medieval monastery and trace its historical development until today. The cloister is not the same as the monastery, but its integral part. In the countless medieval monasteries, much of pre-modern science, theology, and the arts developed, so there is much to explore and to enjoy.

Presented by Dr. Albrecht Classen, University Distinguished Professor, Grand Knight Commander of the Most Noble Order of the Three Lions (GCTL).
