Sunday Harvest: Herbs at Tucson Botanical Gardens

Herbs- America’s favorite pastime. Few things augment a dish more than a surprising hint of mint, a fresh sprig of parsley, or a savory smattering of sage.

In this workshop, you'll learn how to best care for a variety of herbs in the unique conditions of the Sonoran Desert. Then, Chef Carlos Guerrero of Edna’s Eatery by Charly’s Grill will teach participants how to make the perfect Chimichurri sauce to complement a wide variety of dishes- from the well-known steak, to hidden gems like roasted vegetables, burgers, and white fish.

Carlos Guerrero was formerly the executive sous chef at Casino Del Sol and head chef for JW Marriot. Leaving the energetic chaos of the casino culinary scene, Carlos started his own business with Charly’s BBQ & Grill food truck, focusing on his passion for BBQ. Now, he’s starting a new chapter at the Gardens by taking over Edna’s Eatery.
