Join the Reid Park Zoo for an inspirational evening with Dr. Laurie Marker, Founder and Executive Director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund. She will share an update on CCF’s holistic approach to conservation, education, and research work saving wild cheetahs in Namibia, Africa. Her multimedia presentation will also cover current efforts to reintroduce cheetahs into India and CCF’s work in disrupting the illegal wildlife trade through the Horn of Africa that continues to threaten the endangered cheetah. Hosted by Reid Park Zoo and Cheetah Kids.
Doors open and refreshments will be served at 5:30pm in the Zoo’s Conservation Learning Center. Dr. Laurie Marker’s presentation will begin at approximately 6:00pm. Your ticket includes light appetizers, non-alcoholic beverages, and the presentation. A cash bar will be available. Tickets are $25 for General Public, $20 for Zoo Members, and $10 for children. Dr. Marker is recognized around the world as one of the leading experts on cheetahs, both in the wild and in captivity, and began her in situ research in Namibia, Africa, in 1977, where she conducted groundbreaking research on the re-introduction of captive born cheetahs to the wild.
