Nandi is turning 10!
Get ready to get muddy! Nandi, the first elephant born in Arizona, is turning 10. Celebrate the elephant way — with mud! A morning of cookies, elephantastic photo opps, live performances by Mr. Nature’s Music Garden, mud wallows for the kids (bring a swimsuit!), and lots of love for Nandi and the whole herd.
Be ready to get dirty! Elephants like Nandi use dirt and mud to protect their skin and know mud wallows are a fun way to beat the heat. In celebration of Nandi’s summer birthday, there will be mud pits in the Event Garden from 9:00am to 11:30am to allow children and families time to literally get their hands (and more) dirty! There will be a larger mud wallow and kiddie pool wallows for the littles.
Bring a change of clothes, a towel, and a modest bathing suit and get ready to get muddy! A hose will be available to wash off afterward and there will be plenty of sunshine and warmth to drip dry when done.
All festivities are free with Zoo admission!
