Join Mission Garden for a terrific meal by Tumérico made with ingredients from Mission Garden. The menu will have a chicken dish and several vegetable-based dishes currently being determined based on availability of produce from Mission Garden. Dinner rolls will be provided by Don Guerra of Barrio Bread and dessert will be empanadas from La Estrella bakery and watermelon from the garden!
There will be a cash bar where guests can purchase a cocktail or a fine bottle of wine to bring to their table.
Mission Garden will have some very unique and garden-related items for sale. Music will be provided by guitarist Eduardo Costa.
This is a great opportunity to support Mission Garden and to learn about progress in the garden! There will be presentations by Board Member Jesús García and Outreach Coordinator Kendall Kroesen to catch you up with how the garden is doing and what’s in store in the coming months and years.
This is also a great chance to get to know the new Executive Director, Alyce Sadongei. Alyce (Kiowa/Tohono O’odham) was the first Native American director of the American Indian Museum Studies Program at the Smithsonian Institution’s Office of Museum Programs. She later worked at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian and the Arizona State Museum. Alyce was the first recipient of a leadership award given by the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries and Museums in recognition for her work with tribal communities throughout all discipline areas of archives, museums and libraries.
An evening of conversation, catching up with the garden, and great food!
