The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers free tax preparation to families and individuals with incomes up to $79,000. Mobile VITA through GetYourRefund (GYR) is a partnership between the United Way and Pima County’s Community & Workforce Development Department.
How does Mobile VITA work?
Bring your necessary identification and tax documents (See Program Limitations & Requirements) for a ~30-minute intake interview where you’ll work with a VITA Volunteer Intake Specialist to answer questions about your tax situation. The VITA Intake Specialist will then help you securely upload pictures of your documents to GetYourRefund, a fully virtual VITA system developed by Code for America in collaboration with the IRS, allowing VITA Volunteer Tax Preparers and Quality Reviewers to virtually prepare your taxes, ask and answer questions, and review your final return with you before it is e-filed via phone.
A valid phone number and email address is required to use this service, for more information on a variety of other ways to access free tax preparation services, call (520) 333-5810
Walk-ins only on a first-come, first-served basis.
