On the first Thursday of the month, the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block offers extended hours and pay-what-you-wish admission from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. On June’s First Thursday, discover works of art from the Arizona Biennial 2023 and join Biennial artists Matt Magee and Alejandra Platt-Torres as they share insights on structures, discuss their artistic process, share insights on their works in the biennial, and discuss how they relate to their larger body of works at 5:30pm in the Stonewall Community Room (be sure to pre-register).
The evening will feature art and gallery activities, led by Ami and Laila.
During First Thursdays TMA provides space for emerging and established food vendors throughout Arizona to offer pop-ups and encourage guests to support local businesses and foodie creatives. This month, purchase hard-to-find pastries from Cal’s Bakeshop and unique drinks from Tucson Coffee Cricket, enjoy music by Nico Barberan, and a cash bar serving beer and wine.
