Are you a woman interested in starting or growing your business? The free DreamBuilders program is looking for 20 women for an in-person workshop and 20 women for a virtual course designed to help women build their dream business.
The Pima Community College Small Business Development Corporation is offering this program starting Oct. 10 to Pima County residents, thanks to a grant from the City of Tucson.
The DreamBuilder program, funded by Freeport-McMoRan and created by the Arizona State University's Thunderbird School, is a unique business training program designed for women to assist them in starting or growing their own business.
The various online courses walk participants through the basics of starting a business while they simultaneously build a solid business plan. The online courses are supplemented with six in-person workshops led by experienced trainers and subject matter experts, under the direction of the Pima Community College Small Business Development Center team. Co-facilitators are fluent in English and Spanish.
The in-person workshops will be held on Thursday evenings, 5-7 p.m. at PCC’s Downtown Campus. The classes are:
Oct. 10: Fall 2024 DreamBuilder Kick-Off Event (online)
Oct. 17: Start, Explore, Plan
Oct. 24: Make and Marketing
Oct. 30: Pricing and Selling
Nov. 7: Managing and Profiting
Nov. 14: Keeping Track and Funding

Successful students will receive a certificate of completion during the graduation ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 5. There is no charge for the program, which includes light refreshments and course materials.
The program will be offered again in Spring 2025. The program will be expanding to several more rural areas in Pima and Santa Cruz counties over the next few years thanks to a grant from the Arizona Commerce Authority.
