No experience or partners are needed for you to enjoy a wonderful evening of community dancing at Tucson Village Farm's 'Big Farm' on Friday, March 27th. Contra dance is a type of social dance akin to square dancing but with pairs of dancers forming sets of long lines down the length of the dance hall. Kind of like if square dancing and swing dancing had a baby! There will be a live band, Rave Review, featuring fiddle, accordion, and guitar. The caller is Claire Zucker – yes she is the recently retired Pima Extension Director, but she is also a contra caller and she will teach the dancers and then prompt them when the music starts up. Come by yourself or bring a friend! 6:30 - 7:00 introductory teach session.
