Congratulations! You have a new baby on the way. Parenthood is a grand adventure and so much joy lies ahead of you.
Since you are newly pregnant or anticipating an upcoming adoption, you may want to set up a baby registry sometime over the next few months.
A baby registry will allow your family members, friends, and coworkers to purchase much-needed maternity, baby, and postpartum items for you and your expanding family.
In Tucson, there are two different stores where you can register in-person for baby clothing, nursery furniture, books, and gear.
The process generally works like this. You make an appointment to set up a free baby registry (*you may be able to walk in during non-busy seasons). You will then use an app on your phone to quickly and easily scan items that you need or want for baby's arrival. You can add almost anything - board books, baby carriers, car seats, onesies, rockers, and strollers. Your family members and friends can then search for and purchase items that you have pre-selected.
There are seven Target stores in the Tucson area:
Target's baby registry comes with the following perks: a free welcome kit and a 15% discount on all of your registry items 8 weeks before baby's expected arrival.
Target is an excellent option if you have family and friends all over the USA since the store boasts 1,200 locations, free 2-day shipping on orders of $35+, and free order pick-up. They also offer a limited price match guarantee, which includes competitors like Amazon and Walmart.
Another great perk is that Target offers maternity clothing, nursing bras, postpartum care items, prenatal vitamins, and other products you may want before and after your pregnancy.

There are 19 Walmart stores in Tucson and 4,756 Walmart stores in the USA.
When you register at Walmart, you will receive a free baby welcome box. As an added bonus, Walmart offers "free and easy returns" for up to 1 year on eligible registry items, which can be super handy for new parents as they figure out what products work best for themselves and for their baby.

In addition to the above options, there are a number of registries available online. We, however, recommend that you also shop local when you can to keep local dollars here in Tucson. You can find great baby gear for low prices at InJoy Thrift Store, Little Bird Nesting Company, Once Upon A Child, and Sweet Repeats.
Quick note: Babies R Us closed in Tucson in 2018, Kids Center (a local toy & gift shop) closed in 2019, Bed Bath & Beyond closed in 2023, and buybuy Baby closed in 2023. Mildred & Dildred does not offer a baby registry at this time.
Again, congratulations on your new baby! Warmest wishes from the entire TucsonTopia staff!
