On the first Thursday of every month the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block offers extended hours and pay-what-you-wish admission from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. An evening filled with gallery activities and art-making to get to know TMA better, food for purchase from a local vendor, and live music by Asphalt Astronaut.
Through 2025, TMA will host the Mexican American Heritage and History Museum’s monthly history social during First Thursdays while the Sosa-Carrillo House is closed for remodel. During the program, Mauro Trejo IV, Los Descendientes board member and MexAm Museum volunteer will share insights on various aspects of Tucson’s history. October’s topic will be Why is it called that? A History of some place names in Tucson.
