Pima County Parks and Recreation, Tucson Medical Center, and TMC Health Foundation are continuing their partnership to offer 2,000 reduced-cost swim lessons to families across Pima County. The partnership means that every swim class, which covers eight lessons over two weeks, will be reduced from $20 to $10.
Registration for June lessons will open May 13, at 6 a.m.; registration for July lessons will open June 17 at 6 a.m. Register at www.pima.gov/swimlessons.
County pools offering swim lessons are:
Ajo Pool
Catalina Pool
Flowing Wells Junior High School Pool
Kino Pool
Los Niños Pool
Manzanita Pool
Picture Rocks Pool
Wade McLean Pool
Swim lessons at the Thad Terry Aquatic Center at Northwest YMCA are offered by the YMCA and therefore are not part of the partnership. Find more information on each pool at www.pima.gov/pools.
In addition to the reduced-cost lessons, TMC and TMC Health Foundation will be giving a free U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vest to each person at the conclusion of the swim lessons, while supplies last.
Spaces are limited and registration is first-come, first-served. Visit www.pima.gov/swimlessons to register or for more information call 520-724-5171.
