Sonidos Latinoamericanos at Tucson Symphony Center

October 12, 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

$25

A hybrid wind, string, and piano program kicks off the season! Gabriela Ortiz’s Exilios (for flute and string quartet) pays tribute to Spanish Republicans who arrived in Mexico at the end of the Spanish Civil War and left a personal imprint on the composer. Piazzolla’s Oblivion for Piano Trio, written in the style of a milonga, was originally composed for the Italian film Enrico IV. The TSO Wind Quintet rounds out the program with Paquito d’Rivera’s Aires Tropicales, a lively series of dances.
