The Tucson food scene is shaping up to be not too shabby (depending on what part of the city you live in). We have some excellent local dining options, as well as the big kahunas in the restaurant industry. Claim Jumper. Cheesecake Factory. Five Guys. Olive Garden. Etc.
Still, there are quite a few restaurants that are on our TucsonTopia wish list.
Namely -
More FOX Restaurants - Sam Fox is a culinary genius...and his fresh and innovative cuisine can already be found in our own southwestern paradise. Currently, Tucson boasts three Sauces, two Zinburgers, a NoRTH, a Blanco, and a Wildflower. But we miss Montana Avenue (yes, we do). Also, we'd love to see True Food Kitchen and/or The Greene House. Perhaps in Vail/SE Tucson?
More Farm-to-Table Restaurants - We, of course, are fans of restaurants that make use of local foods. It would be lovely to see more of them pop up in 2012 and beyond. Preferably with aesthetic outdoor seating? Tucson is ripe for good food - real food.
An Upscale Kids Restaurant w/ Healthy Fare - We'd like somewhere better to take our kids than McD's. Much, MUCH better. Menu items that actually taste good...and will do a body good. You know - fresh fruits & veggies, grilled salmon, whole wheat pasta dishes, etc. Also, since we're in Tucson with awesome weather year round - how about an OUTDOOR playground on-site? Maybe something like this:
